Closing in on Finals!

It’s getting close to the end of the year, things are winding down. Posts have been getting slim, I’ve been too busy to write them.

I’ll just mention that last week we went over portrait lighting.

We are having a meeting this week. Nothing too exciting though, just going over some opportunities and wrapping things up.

Our last meeting will be next week. If there are enough submissions by April 8th we will be awarding prizes for the End of the Year Photo Contest. Otherwise, there will be pizza and a discussion for what we’d like next year. Please join us and bring your input if you’d like to see something happen! Especially if it involves or needs funding.

See you Wednesday!

Notes from the First meeting 1-22

These were some ideas that we brainstormed:

  • group photo shoots
  • portrait photos
  • models for photos
  • getting software demos – photoshop
  • guest speakers – faculty, local photographers
  • intern or job opportunities
  • photo scavenger hunt – preferably when it’s warmer
  • learning Flickr
  • themed meetings
  • advertising for the club – making posters – word of mouth – get us out there – classified in the Lanthorn
  • learn about money opportunities
  • Moo.com – mini photo cards – Ellen will bring hers
  • event photography – President’s Ball?, Laker Late Night
  • bi-weekly group photo shoots – outside
  • small groups
  • rotating schedule – to fit everyone

At the next meeting we were thinking about talking about your favorite photographer, so bring ideas. And feel free to bring up any other ideas you may have at any time.

We will be meeting in Kirkhof again in the glass room, also possibly called the atrium, from 8-9pm on Wednesday.

See you there!
